homemade lemoncello
homemade lemoncello...we'll see how this goes!
a special thanks to my coworkers and colleagues who brought in the dozens and dozens of fresh lemons from the california citrus trees surrounding the south land!
we thought we should put them to use by attempting to make lemoncello
our process -- well danny's process of making, my supportive photo taking shown below:

21 lemons to be exact
peel the skins making sure not to get the pulp
sadly, after skins are peeled, the remainder of lemons are unused -
thus we made lemonade with the remaining bits of lemon
squeezed lemon, a little water & a douse of sugar -- or if you want the romanian way, add honey for sweet
add lemon peels to container
add 1.75 liters vodka & stir, hands work too
plastic wrap - or use a container with a seal
finito
and now she sits waiting to be served
1 month with lemon peels
1 month with peels & simple syrup
then freeze
1 month with peels & simple syrup
then freeze
we'll see how long we can wait
buon appetito
happy birthday danny: manscape tablescape
deary dan's birthday dinner celebration
26 years of age called for alaskan king crab legs, rib eyes, pine nut salad & delicious craft beers
it also allowed me to search around and dig into dannys tool box, leather bin & camping supplies for potential decor items
we'll call this the "manscape tablescape"

to more adventures & journeys ahead.
cheers to you mr. mcguire
pillows [continued]
as referenced a few weeks ago, i found a bolt of this fabric for a dollar
talk about a find
...
danny and i spent a weekend in ventura at my mother in laws' home on the beach
with big rolling clouds, grey seas, pouring rains and high winds outside
we enjoyed shirley temples rendition of heidi and the original miracle on 34th street
while sewing pillows
a truly delightful way to spend a saturday
the process of making:

porterville, twilight

i believe
in family
in the smell of hearty earth & hay
in making a fire in the back yard
in brushing Blue's mane
in being cold and uncomfortable but still seeking after geocache treasure
in enjoying late conversations and tales of youth
porterville, provides these things
